Pink Rhinestone Easy Nail Art for Beginners

Advertisements

Nail Art is therapeutic, yes you read it right. Atleast for me, I can explore and do something which will instantly boost up or change my mood. With the current ongoing situation I was feeling low hence decided to do a simple but glittery mani. A month before I did a haul from https://ilovemypolish.com/ , so thought to use their pink glitter box and did a Pink Rhinestone easy nail art for beginners.

Supplies

Base coat- is from Nykaa 7 in 1 nail spa.
Nail Polish– Faces Canada Splash Nail Enamel, Twinkle. I have reviewed it on my blog, you can check by clicking here
Glue for Rhinestone– I have used Nail foil glue from Born Pretty which I again purchased from Ilovemypolish. Not only for foils but this glue is good for shimmers, glitters, sequins, mylar flakes, rhinestones etc.
Top Coat- Bella Voste
Rhinestone Picker- From Indian Nail Art Junkie Instagram Store. This store is again I will highly recommend for variety of nail art products and super quick service and delivery.
Rhinestone– from Ilovemypolish

Pink Rhinestone Nail Art-

Rhinestones I believe is one of the most easy and beginner friendly nail art material. All you need to have is a good glue and a top coat. A good glue is required to stick the rhinestone perfectly. In past I have purchased many nail art glue but I have never used any as of now. Earlier most of the time I was sorted with the transparent coat of nail polish as glue and then sealing it again with same coat. But I came across nail foil glue couple of month before and now I am using it for my nail art and it stays good for even a week, without any issue.

There is nothing fancy in this nail art, a base nail polish which is a bit shimmery, you can use pastel or any shade of your choice or even leave it transparent. Apply nail foil glue layer where you want to stick the rhinestones. Place rhinestone with the help of picker. Now this picker is the game changer. This is super economical and will end you for years if you use it even once a week. They are perfect for rhinestones but works well with majority of mediums.

Pictures-

Below are the pictures for your reference. I really loved how beautiful they looked.

Easy Beginner Travelogue/Travel Journal Idea

Advertisements

A travel journal or a travelogue was in my wishlist from long time. I love travelling and clicking pics. My recent love for painting, doodling etc was forcing me more to have one. To start with I didnt wanted to invest in a proper Travel Journal (yes they do exist). I had my own requirements like the page should be textured, it should not be pure white and smooth, the cover should be different. Fountain pain should look beautiful and I can paint doodle, stick photo or whatever.

I finalised many and even decided to make own if I dont get what I want. But luckily my search ended with Bohemian AlleyTo start with I ordered 2 journals from them. One is the Ribbon Diary which I have converted to Travelogue and another one I am using for different medium illustrations, paintings etc.

Bohmeian Alley Ribbon Diary

This a pure beauty elegance with quality. It has got textured pages though its 100 gsm but suitable for all mediums. I have used water color, gouache, fountain pen, sketch pen, karin markers as of now and it have survived all of them well. Its not pure white just off white which look very classy and vintage. The cover use the scrap fabric from the cloth maufacturing industry in Rajasthan and the papers used are handmade.

I have attached a short video too. Will highly recommend to visit their Instagram page. Currently they are on Instagram only and its small business and demand is very high. So you need to keep checking when the prints and the products are in stick. The Store owner is a very cooperative professional. The whole experience of choosing and selecting is very smooth.

My Travelogue

Travelling is hardly a thing from past one year. But we all do have many pics and memories which we want in our journal. With that thought I started this.

  • In left side I will write a description of the place, location, any particular incident
  • On right side there will be a painting or illustration or doodle whatever
  • On left side I will write atleast few lines related to the right side
  • Location and date will be mentioned

Its not necessary to paint only you can use photo or stick any  memory, you can use any normal diary, notebook and to that matter any journal.

This I found the most beginner friendly way to have own Travelogue, do you have any let me know in comments.

DIY Handmade Mini and Super Mini Journal

Advertisements

An year before I went crazy for Mini Sketchbooks, watercolor books, journals. Now almost after an year  I am making my own handmade journals. This DIY Handmade Mini and Super mini journal is so easy to make even a beginner can do this.

Why Mini Journals?

I love mini journals. For doodling also I prefer A5 or below. A6 and A7 sizes are my favourite. You can see n number of paintings, doodles etc on my blog which is done on Mini Journals, Sketchbooks, Watercolor books. The feeling of finishing a project in one seating is very important for me. I generally paint or draw early morning and have extreme time constraint.

Types of Mini Journals-

I have many mini journals from different brands, Instagram seller and after understanding the anatomy of it I googled how to make and to my surprise it looked fairly easy.

You can check many of my Mini Sketchbook posts by clicking here

Some of the supply link of the products I am using are:-

Ayush Paper Mini Sketchbook Collection by clicking here. They have watercolor book, grey, brown, black and white sketchbook in sizes 4*4cm and 180 to 270 gsm. Needless to say they are my most favourite.

Menorah Stationery too have wonderful collection and you can check their A7 Size product by clicking here.

I will do a separate post on my Mini Sketchbooks/ Journals/Watercolor books collection and will link every product detail there. That will make more sense.

My Own DIY Handmade Mini Watercolor Book

In last 4-5 months I have made many DIY handmade sketchbooks. You can check many of my DIY hobby related including journals by clicking here

As of now I only made sketchbooks from around 200 GSM hot pressed paper or some handmade papers (GSM may be around 220). I wanted to make a proper DIY Handmade Watercolor book which has 270 GSM or above paper. Luckily I had some loose A5 cotton watercolor paper of 270 GSM. From one sheet of A5 Paper I made 2 Watercolor Book

One is of around 3*2.5 cm (28 sheets, 56 pages) hand deckle edged another one is 1.9*1.5 cm (6 sheets, 12 pages) with normal scissor cut. I have used normal sewing thread to bind. For my initial journals I did kettle stitch and in my last two journals I tried coptic stitch and I found coptic stitch much more better. I checked on Youtube and came across this Kettle Stitch which is more like coptic stitch and its perfect for these kind of books and I believe I am going to make many journals using this technique. You can check the tutorial here

For cover I used a thick handmade paper which I already had, and thread used is crochet yarn. Going forward I will try to make fancy covering as these two have the most basic one. But I love them.

Below are the pics:-

Sizes

See how mini it is

This tiny one has my heart

Love its touch and scissor cut edges

Has 6 sheets and 12 pages

The bigger mini one with hand deckle edged

that look

totally in love

My Views-

It was a fun project but I did face lot of difficulty in both. Deckle edging a thick 270 gsm paper was a tough deal. I literally sore my fingers by deckle edging 28 sheets. But the result was worth the pain. I dont have the proper tool so I used normal needle to make hole and that was again a difficult process in this much thick paper. But all well that ends well. I am definitely going to make more they are so cost effective and you can make whatever size you want.

Aalankrita Hyderabad Visit, My Views- Part 1

Advertisements

Financial year closing time is very busy time for us. In February Covid cases in India have gone down very low. We planned for a trip to other part of India, but by end of march situation started getting bad. Cases were low in Hyderabad till last week so we made a quick plan to visit Aalankrita Hyderabad.

Aalankrita, Hyderabad

Aalankrita 4 Star Resort & Convention is at the outskirt of Hyderabad. It is in Medchal District and in Shameerpet Mandal. The famous Shameerpet lake is very nearby like 5-10 min driving distance. we visited Shameerpet lake again and this time water was at high level and it looked really beautiful. Will share the experience and pics in coming posts.

Official website of this resort is https://aalankrita.com/. In this post I will share some of the pics clicked by me. My experience of staying there will be shared in a separate post which will be Part-2.

Before I share the pics, let me share the direct link of all my travel related posts. I am trying to be regular in travel related postings too. Though most of the visited places will be of past only. From last year due to Covid there have been lots of travel restrictions. Link for my travel related posts are here.

My Latest Little Haul from Ilovemypolish website-

There was a glitter sale recently and I did a small haul from them. You can see the same in picture below. I will be sharing a nail art along with swatch from this haul.

Glitter mania

Gorgeous Cosmos Neon Orange Nail Polish-

This brand was totally new for me but when I saw the swatches I knew I have to get it. I immediately placed order, it was last mid year. I have reviewed couple of them on my blog, you can read about Gorgeous Cosmos products on my blog by clicking here
Like the other shade this one too is bright and 1-2 coats are enough which generally dont happen with neon nail polishes. My Views are mentioned below

  • Bright bright bright It’s very much bright how a neon nail polish should be
  • It’s very opaque, one coat also give an opaque finish but two will be better.
  • The swatches below are direct application without any white nail polish base which I generally do in case of Neon nail polish.
  • It’s not a quick dry nail polish but not too much time taking also, just a decent time taking
  • Bristles are fine and perfect to give good application
  • Formula is also neither thick nor thin
  • No overpowering smell
  • Stays good for 3-4 days without chipping and peeling
  • Finish is semi matte
  • Good for nail arts
Quick Nail Art with my latest haul product-

Not a brainer nail art, just used some nail art sequins. First of all applied the Nykaa 7 in 1 nail spa, after that Gorgeous Cosmos Neon Orange Nail polish. Two coats have been used and after that I applied Born Pretty Foil glue this really works for me.After few seconds used the Rhinestone and Mylar picker to pick the sequins and place it on my nails. It worked wonderfully. Sealed it with Bella Voste top coat.

Below are the pics

My Views-

I really love this shade and the finish and formula. Enjoyed doing this nail art, its the perfect bling I wanted in this hot summer season. With the right tool it becomes so easy to do any nail art.
